Nineteen-year-old British actress Emma Watson is all grown up in the Autumn/Winter 2009 Burberry ad campaign and the result is absolutely stunning. Looking edgy yet classic in a variety of the company’s iconic trenches, the young starlet was shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino in Westminster, central London. Burberry’s new headquarters are nearby. The video below includes artsy behind the scenes footage of the photo shoot and mini interviews with Watson and Burberry’s creative director, Christopher Bailey, set to moody music by Jonathan Borrell. How is it that Brits always seem so effortlessly cool?

There is a shop in Westport, Connecticut that won my heart and its name is Dovecote (such a lovely name in and of itself—a home for doves). It has beautiful thick, letterpress business cards in scrumptious shades of robin’s egg blue and lime green. It has more goodies for the home than one could ever imagine—true decorator’s paradise. There are cowrie shells, starfish, velvet leopard print pillows, lucite coffee tables, vintage brass ashtrays… I never could walk out empty handed—even if all I could afford was a straw basket or little purple sea urchin. Albert Hadley shops there. No really, he does. That alone makes it magical… Sigh… I miss you Dovecote. Hope to be back soon.

I am absolutely dying to see “The September Issue,” a documentary on American Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. It debuts in theaters on August 28 and is sure to be a hit among the fashion set. The film, directed and produced by R.J.Cutler, was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival as well at film festivals in Brisbane, Melbourne, Galway, Edinburgh and many more. It promises to entertain! Check out the trailer below…
