English Country Cottage

PHOTOMaison-DuJourHam-Common-Cottage011.JPG

Someday I’m going to have a quaint little English country house that looks something like this.  I’ll garden in my wellies and host tea parties on the lawn.  The interior will have lots of chintz and a small, cozy library brimming with books by Jane Austen.  Maybe even a yellow room, a nod to the late great Nancy Lancaster.  It will be magical…

Grand Ole Bestiary

These prints by Grand Ole Bestiary gave me a good laugh.  The collection of “faux-antique, anthropomorphic, mythological curios” contain a bevy of vintage photos altered to include rabbits, squirrels, goats and many other members of the animal kingdom.  One thrown in among a collage of framed vintage photos would certainly be a surprise and give your guests a good chuckle.  I think my favorite is the elephant, yours?

Best Engagement Present EVER

photo-1

Above is a snapshot of the cutest, sweetest, most thoughtful engagement present in the world compliments of my dear friend Jane Lilly Warren.  Inside the lovely printed bakery box (what a genius packaging idea!) is a set of charming letterpress correspondence cards that read “John & Katherine.”  They were made by Sesame Letterpress in Brooklyn, NY and are printed on the most luscious, thick paper.  I was literally jumping up and down when I opened them!  The best part?  Jane and her wonderful man Scott (he’s a doll, we all met in Switzerland…) just got engaged this past weekend in Maine!

Congratulations and thank you to Jane and Scott!!!

Dreamy Fashion

Mendel1

J. Mendel’s Spring 2010 collection is my favorite of season thus far.  His dresses are just so dreamy and unlike so many other things found on the runway, wearable!  French designer Gilles Mendel said his message for spring was, “”Specialness, preciousness, and value—with a little something to make you dream.”  I’m dreaming!  Here are my favorites:
