The open road…

Driving

I almost forgot to mention my big news…I got my driver’s license!  It’s a bit embarrassing I waited this long, but between boarding school, university in Switzerland, San Francisco and Manhattan I just haven’t needed one.  I owe a big thank you to my fiance John for his tutelage and patience.  When we began I literally didn’t know the gas from the brake (no, really).  See you all on the open road!

Buenos Aires Honeymoon…?!

Buenos

John and I did a lot of wedding + honeymoon brainstorming this weekend and are thinking of honeymooning in Buenos Aires, Argentina!  Have any of my lovely readers been there?  I pulled out my June 2006 issue of Domino to study their “Destination BA” guide and got goosebumps!  I’m dying to see the architecture, some tango dancing and shop for antiques at the San Telmo flea market (apparently the exchange rate makes for shopping heaven).  Even the chicest hotels look ridiculously affordable.  If you’ve been to Buenos Aires do let me know, I’d love the insider scoop!

Smiles All Around

I came across the fashion photography of Kate Powers this weekend and was instantly smitten with her bright, cheerful portfolio.  The models are all smiles and each shot has a tiny glimpse of vintage glamour that I just love.  Beyond fashion Kate also shoots lifestyle, kids, and beauty photography.  To see more of her fresh, fun work visit her website HERE.

Vintage Doily Pillow

This vintage doily pillow by Antraciproduction is pure granny chic.  Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden the pillow is made from a handsome grey unbleached linen.  At $38 it beats chain store prices and is far more unique.  I love that she used a vintage  accessory to create something totally fresh and new—-a NEO-traditionalist to be sure!

Ladurée Love

Laduree

I found a beautiful brochure on the Ladurée website and in it was the colorful chart of their famous macaroons above.  Isn’t it lovely?  I want it framed in my kitchen.

Laduree1

Someday when I open my own boutique I hope to take inspiration from the iconic and charming Ladurée storefront above.  If you haven’t been, it’s a must.  In fact, a return visit is long overdue pour moi…
