To have and to hold…

So I’ve been thinking about my bridal bouquet recently (I need to choose a color so I can coordinate John’s bow tie) and have rounded up some pretty options courtesy of Once Wed.  What do you think my dear readers?  I lean toward the more casual, wild bouquets, but could really use some input.  In case you missed it, we’ll be having a small garden wedding and I’ll be wearing this grecian inspired J.Crew gown.  Do you have a favorite?

My vote goes for the sixth one down (http://theneotraditionalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/white-wedding-bouquet.jpg). It seems to best combine the traditional bridal bouquet structure with a fresh-picked-wildflowers-from-your-garden feel. And, that baby blue hue of the small flowers would look great on a groom! All excellent choices though!

    1) I love the necklace (?) wrapped around the first bouquet– too cute.
    2) I like pictures 4, 6, 8, and 9. 5 looks too much like a bush, while 11 looks like a centerpiece, and I think it might overwhelm you.
    3) I like the shape and height of 4, but love the colours of 8.
    4) 2 looks a little too rustic, like you literally just picked it out of the garden, but I think 6 is a sweeter, more romantic, cleaner, less rugged version (though I think ultimately 6 looks a little too loose–like it might fall apart).
    5) I would vote for something not as structured and formal as 10, with the dimension and body of 9 and the colour of 8. :)

  3. i think i like the first one, pictured with the dress the best because i really like wild loose bouquets too. something else to consider – don’t make it too big or it could be heavy to carry!

these are so gorgeous-I love the wild flowers under the purple flowers xx

ok….it is FRIGHTENING how similar our style is. i have SO many of the same floral images saved and i LOOOOVE the idea of wild bouquets. wildflowers are so different and interesting for a wedding i think. the purple bouquet is absolutely stunning. i really like whites and greens together too. also- ummmmm love love love love the dress!! i’ve always thought jcrew had great affordable dresses and this one is adorable!!! i saved it in my “wedding” file…shhh….don’t tell my boyfriend. haha

  6. Angela says:

I love the thrown togetherness look of the 2nd bouquet. A mixture of flowers loosely gathered would be so perfect for your garden wedding! I also love the necklace wrapped around bouquet #1 & the lace detail of bouquet #4. Both of these details are absolutely beautiful.

I’m in the wild camp, myself. I love the look of the second bouquet, although I’d probably opt for more color.

they’re all so gorgeous! my favorites are the purple ones and the last ones!

  9. Kristin says:

They are all just beautiful, but I’m partial to the last one.: )

hands down the fourth one with the lace. it’s flawless!

Love the first wedding gown and the last bouquet. :)

4th from the bottom. I like it so much, I get a tingly feeling in my stomach when I look at it :) and with your dress – I think the perfect blend of wildflower and class!

  13. Laura. says:

oh, what a hard decision! i really like the wild look and i really like the lace around the fourth one–although i always like it when the flowers contrast strongly with the dress, so those purple ones are really calling to me, although the third one from the bottom with the button mums and cabbage roses is really gorgeous. boy, it’s a good thing i don’t have to make this decision!

I am very partial to the lilacs, but don’t let the fact that I will be your mother-in-law influence you in any way…I love the long-stem look as well! You have great taste!
