Weekend Plans + Getaways

December 18th, 2009

Alfred

My new Canon arrived and I’m positively ecstatic!  Above is a shot I just snapped of my pug pup Alfie (my own wrinkly little supermodel).  This weekend I’ll be spending most of my time taking pictures and planning our trip to Washington D.C.  John and I are going next week for a little Christmas getaway.  I’m looking forward to playing tourist and exploring the Smithsonian museums, visiting the Lincoln memorial, drooling over the townhouses in Georgetown, perhaps even catching a glimpse of Michelle’s White House holiday decor!

What about you dear friends, where will you be spending your holidays?  Do you go home or jet off somewhere tropical?  What traditions are you most looking forward to?  Can’t wait to hear!

Kate, I would love to see you and meet Mr. Armour while you’re in DC! I’m stuck here alone over the holidays (oh, the trials of a newly employed Fed…), so let me know if you’ll have time for coffee or cocktails!

I hope you have a great, festive, Christmas-y trip to D.C.! This is my big “soak up the Christmas cheer in Washington” weekend, as I’m headed home next week to spend the holidays with my family in Pennsylvania. Let me know if you have any other questions about D.C. -how perfect that you’ve gotten your new camera in time to document the trip!

Well dear Kate… I am so very jealous you will be in DC this week, and that you will get to see the National tree all lit up! Just missed you! Whatever you do, I’m hoping you save the Tombs in Georgetown for when I’m back there… We are FINALLY getting our tree this weekend!

Have fun with your new camera!
I’m going to a concert in Vegas tonight, and then later this weekend I’ll be going back to my parents’ house for Christmas. I can’t believe it’s so soon!

  10. You are too sweet! Thank you for your concern! We actually aren’t leaving until next week so right now we’re bundled up inside watching the snow fall. Fingers crossed the storm is long gone before we leave next Thursday! Oh and if anyone has some must-see-in-DC tips do let me know and I’ll add them to our itinerary!

Your pup is adorable, I’m sure with the new camera we will be seeing much more of him! I graduated this weekend and spent the weekend by the pool at the Arizona Inn (yay for 75 degree weather in December!). If you are ever looking for a desert getaway this is the place, gorgeous and relaxing! Now I’m back to California for the holidays and a little job hunting!

  13. Congratulations on graduating Jaclyn!!! How exciting! Keep me posted on your job search—I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Enjoy the sunshine for us.

  14. Love your pug. We have one too. They are so cute and fun. Otis (our pug) loves to cuddle and lie in front of the fire. It’s his favorite place to sleep. Great post. I’ve got images of Otis on my blog. Take a look when you have time.
