Wedding dress, second guess…

Remember how excited I was to have found my wedding dress at J.Crew a few months back?  Well, I’ve changed my mind!  I still love and admire the original pick, but just haven’t been able to pull the trigger.  We’ll be moving come June and I don’t want to settle on a dress until I know where I’ll be wearing it.  I still want a small garden ceremony, but would love to it to take place in our new city (I’m currently rooting for Washington D.C.).  Anywho, I came across the dress above at Anthropologie last week and was instantly charmed.  Perhaps a simple, champagne tea length dress is the way to go?

I love it! You would look fab in it.

I fully support your small garden ceremony in DC. :)
What can we do to sway John toward picking this city?

Three cheers for practicality!! And even though I just high tailed out of Northern VA, I would push for a move to DC.

  4. Stevi says:

It is a fantastic dress!! We better see pictures of the wedding day!

I love that it is unique and simple, I get sick of the same old wedding dress.

  5. Kelly Anne says:

I love the dress! I think shorter lengths feel much more natural in outdoor weddings. Oh, and yes, come to DC!

  6. So beautiful! Def. couldn’t go wrong with this dress…

  7. Brandi says:

I think this dress is gorgeous. And chances are, if you haven’t been able to pull the trigger with your original find, it wasn’t THE dress. This one would be just perfect for a small garden ceremony.

I LOVE that dress! Very you :) And I’m voting on DC as well for you and John and Alfie

I saw this dress a few days ago and its great! I also love your j crew pick and think kate at j crew is rather wonderful as well. (I didn’t end up buying my dress there, and was a bit sad that I didn’t get to work with her further.) All said, in the end, I’m a sucker for bows

  12. I’m so pleased you all liked this gown! I was hesitant to even consider going short, but I really think it could work. Thank you so very much for your feedback—I’ll keep you posted when I make the final decision!

How did I miss this? I LOVE THE DRESS! I mean, I really love it. It’s gorgeous – so elegant and beautiful. The move sounds so exciting as well – Washington DC sounds like such an adventure, I shall cross my fingers for you. I am sure you’d look lovely in that dress anywhere, though!

    cute dress!

I just discovered your blog today so excuse the question (as I’m sure you’ve answered in previous posts)… are you planning to move to DC or do you live there?

  17. Hi Melissa,
Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately, we were just visiting D.C. I recently moved from downtown Manhattan to Morgantown, West Virginia (such a hoot…), but will be relocating again June 1st. Where we’ll end up depends on my fiancé’s law school plans—perhaps D.C. or back to Manhattan or maybe even Atlanta, Nashville or New Orleans! So that’s that. Glad you like the dress—if only I could make up my mind! XX Kate

That is such a lovely dress! Much more fantastic than the j.crew pic — I agree with Brandi’s comment.

Besides, think of the darling shoes you could pair and show off with this!
