Weekend Plans + Fun News

Can you believe it’s already Friday?  John and I will be having an easy going, movie watching, spaghetti cooking weekend.  I’m especially looking forward to reading a good book, visiting the flea market and cuddling with my baby Alfred (the pug).

We have a fantastic Plucky Pioneer interview lined up for Monday.  I won’t reveal who, but let’s just say she’s an artist who has done work for a certain someone named Spade…

Next week is also going to be a big week because I’m finally unveiling that hush hush project I mentioned in my New Year’s post! I’ll also be hosting my first giveaway—something I’m very excited about!  Stay tuned!

Alright, you know the routine—what are your weekend plans?  Everyone must have at least one thing they’re looking forward to…won’t you share it with your fellow neo-trads?

XX your fan Kate

P.S. Thanks for all the sweet comments this week. You’re the best.

Hopefully this weekend is to be low-key and relaxing — dinner with a big group of friends Saturday and general laziness/cuddling/movies the rest of the time! I can’t wait to hear about your new project (silly me, I thought Plucky Pioneers was the big news from New Year’s…and now there’s even more!! :) ) I love your awesomeness! Have a wonderful weekend! xo

  2. Lauren says:

I will be working, as is my weekend usual. However, thanks to your recent “Inspiration Board” entry, I will be attempting to complete me own. My most recent weekend tradition has been renting classic films staring the likes of Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Clark Gable, Jimmy Stuart, Audrey Hepburn, etc. This weekend: Arsenic and Old Lace, The Shop Around the Corner, and Holiday. Your weekend sounds lovely! Like Amanda, I too thought Plucky Pioneers was the big news. Can’t wait till Monday!

  3. hiii! i just discovered your blog when you commented on starfish and sundresses’ about my stella + dot site, and looks like i’m just in time! i’m so excited for the giveaway! i can’t wait to start following and i’m glad you love stella + dot, too – i can’t wait to see how much money we raise to help haiti :)

Let’s see…lunch with a friend, going to see A Single Man, hopefully some reading and knitting too.

  6. Amanda — Ohhh a dinner party sounds like great fun! And the general laziness/cuddling/movies of course. Have fun with your little ones! XO

Lauren — Oh I want to rent old classics now too! I could use a little Hepburn in my life (Katharine or Audrey, you just can’t go wrong…). I’m also going to EMAIL YOU!!! Hope you’ve had a good week darling girl! XOXO

Sparkles and Sundresses — Welcome and thanks for stopping by! LOVE your stuff and that you’re donating to Haiti!

  7. Kelly Anne says:

Hmmm…if it were going to be warmer, I’d take my dog for a ramble down by the river, but since the forecast looks bleak, I’ll probably curl up with a book by the fire, maybe try to recreate a friend’s hot cocoa/Earl Grey tea combination. Ah, and the dog will get a walk in the cold regardless. She always does.

  8. Lynn Byrne says:

My weekend plans include going out to our beach house in Montauk to check out a demolished bathroom. I have have to get inspired for the remodel. Pics will be on Decor Arts Now. It will be freezing in MTK, so frankly I would rather be snuggling up in from of my fireplace in Pelham. Lynn

  9. Just a little redecorating, some movies, and a little reading, of course. It is so cold here in NY, and we’re hosting my grandma’s 100th in 2 weeks, so it is good time to be nest-y. Have a great weekend!

  10. Kelly Anne — I feel your pain. I just took my Alfie out in the brittle cold for his walk…brutal! They’re lucky we love them! Enjoy your book! XX

Lynn — Regardless of the chill a beach house sounds nice! Can’t wait to check out the photos on your blog for the bath remodel. This sounds like fun!

Stephanie — I still can’t get over the 100th birthday! It will be fantastic party I’m sure. And I love the phrase “nest-y” I’m going to start using that! XOXO

Gwen — You’ve certainly been missed, but I know what it’s like to be busy, busy! Your daughter’s name is Lucy?! I LOVE it! What a sweet name. I’ve always thought it would be fun to name a child after her someday… Anywho, stay warm and safe travels to Georgia! Can’t wait to hear about Atlanta! XOXOXO

  32. Ann says:

Hey Kate – A Robbie Burns dinner is yes, in honor of the scottish poet, but it’s great fun – they do these kinds of dinners all over the world (mostly in europe) on Robbie Burns’ birthday every year. They’re full of speeches, poetry, and dancing, and haggis, bagpipes. it’s a real hilarious ceremony of sorts. http://www.rabbie-burns.com/the_supper/index.cfm.html

  33. La says:

There seem to be several Laurens (hooray for having one of THE most popular baby names of the 80s) so I’m going to start distinguishing myself with my nickname, La – very creative I know.

Weekend plans – finally cashing in a birthday present from a friend and going to the Museum of Arts & Design. Very excited about the exhibition Slash: Paper Under the Knife (made possible by Kate’s Paperie might I ad!) which features different paper art forms.

Spending the rest of the weekend cuddled up inside because it’s FREEZING!

  34. Rachel says:

I’m looking forward to sleeping until I wake up on my own… without an alarm clock! Such a luxury.
And I’m looking forward to working on getting our garage cleaned up and organized (we have a bunch of junk to put up in the attic).
