It is with great excitement that I introduce to you my latest project, “Katie Armour Home.”  My new online vintage shop is brimming with traditional-with-a-twist finds.  As you all know I’m a big fan of flea markets, estate sales and antique shops.  Well, over the past year or so I have amassed quite the collection and now I’d like to spread the love.  In the “Katie Armour” Etsy shop you will everything from vintage brass figurines to Vera table linens.  Every item caught my eye for one special reason or another.  I buy what I love and I hope you love it too!  I chose “Katie” because it’s what my darling, supportive family often calls me and “Armour” (soon to be my last name) because I couldn’t have done this without my partner in crime, John.  Besides, did you know Kate Spade wasn’t yet “Spade” when she and her now hubby, Andy, launched their little handbag collection?  Below is a selection of items featured in the shop.  I take great care to include small styled vignettes to help you visualize.  There are forty items currently listed, but I have twice that still waiting for their moment in the limelight.  I’ll be adding items all weekend…we’re expecting up to 16 inches of snow!

UPDATE: People have asked about using images from the shop on their own blog—of course you may!  Spread the Katie Armour Home love!  I’m touched and overwhelmed by your support.  I have the BEST blogging friends a girl could ask for!  XO

THE GIVEAWAY

To kick things off on the right foot I will be giving away one of my all time favorite finds, the brass pineapple below.  As you know the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and one of the most classic motifs found in the home.  This pineapple opens up to store any number of trinkets—matches, jewelry, or perhaps some pretty paperclips for your desk.  It’s handsome and weighty and I’ll be oh-so-pleased to send it off to a happy home.  To enter simply link over to Katie Armour Home, decide your favorite item and leave a comment on this post telling me what it is!  I’m desperate for your feedback—my goal is to fill the shop with all your favorite things.  Oh and you don’t have to be a blogger to comment or enter—everyone’s eligible.  Do drop me a line and tell me what you think!  Have a wonderful wintery weekend my loves!

XOXO Katie : )

P.S. I’ll be drawing a name at random on Monday at 5:00pm EST to be our winner!

kate, all your work paid off – the shop looks terrific! it looks like a lot of purchases have been made so far. i think the brass elephant figurine i had my eye on is gone already? i will definitely have to make a purchase soon!

    Jane

  6. Ann — Unfortunately the brass elephants were just for styling purposes and won’t be up for sale. I’m sorry! One is a gift and the other is part of my own private collection. I very rarely keep things for myself these days, but that little guy has sentimental value. I’ll keep my open for more elephants though! Thanks for all your support! XO

Jane — I love you. You didn’t have to buy something! I’ll ship them out asap. XOXO

I am going to shop from the store for sure!

    yay katie kate!

  8. How exciting! You have a great eye and I will be checking in often.

I am seriously thinking about selling off some book inventory. Mostly art, decor & fashion books. Was debating whether Etsy was the place for it. I know there are restrictions for selling newish items but most of my books are pretty old.

    Wishing you every success!

  9. Polos + Peonies —- Thank you my dear! I want to see this book collection of yours! Let me know if you do decide to start selling!! XO

  10. mary says:

AWESOME! Fantastic! Good luck and I will be over there right now to see what treasures you have. Congrats!

  18. Natalie says:

Look at all these comments, the shop is a hit!!! With regard to my favorite item (and the addition of the Vera napkin rings and that issue of Life did not make this decision any easier!), I’ve determined it’s the brown ice bucket – something about that gold chain! Soo 70s, and I think it would look so cheeky among an otherwise uniform and polished barware collection. And it’s perfect for putting a bottle on ice and toasting your continued success! Here’s to Katie Armour Home!!! ;)

  19. Trista says:

Best of luck! I love the Vintage Brass Knight Letter Opener!

  20. Thank you Trista and Natalie!!! Things are selling pretty quickly—this is going to be an adventure! XO

  24. Joanna says:

    1. It was lovely reading your comments on my blog. Thank you!
    2. You and your blog are adorable! I’ll be stopping by here more often. :-)
    3. Where on the central coast did you (or do you) live? I lived in San Luis Obispo for a spell, and I like to escape to Santa Barbara when I can. The central coast is so beautiful.

  25. Kirby says:

Yeah! i’m so excited for you! Welcome to Etsy!

There are so many to choose from. Besides the amazing Pinnapple I really like the Vintage Boston’s Chinese Tea Tin.

  26. Christine says:

I love the Vintage Milk Glass Bunny Dish, Lidded Bowl the best. I love all things bunny/rabbit since that’s my Chinese zodiac sign. Also love the bookends…I have been looking for the perfect pair.

I love the shop!!! I will definitely bookmark it. :)

  27. I really love the Vintage brass trivet with monogrammed W.M. I think it would be great underneath a wall-mounted flat screen TV, almost acting as exclamation point! Love your site, and hope to win that adorable pineapple!

  28. Elizabeth KS says:

Love love loving the vintage brown ice bucket with gold chain!! Love! (though it’s all fantastic – and that William & Mary trivet was a super close second!)

  29. Jill says:

My favorite item is definitely the cowboy boot. Love, love, love it! Also, I was excited to see the Williamsburg brass trivet – my parents have the same one! Crazy about your shop, darling.

  30. A tortoise shell ice bucket?!?!? Does this really exist?! Hands down my favorite. But I am a sucker for milk glass and love all those products you are selling, as well.

Congratulations, Kate! How exciting for you.

  31. Sara says:

    LVEO LOVE LOVE!!

  32. Stevi says:

That is so great Kate!!! I want everything! If I had to pick ONE thing that I really want at this very moment, that would be the Vintage Pressed Glass Pitcher. I desperately need one and this is just about the greatest pitcher I’ve ever seen!!

    Your fabulous!

  33. Jenny says:

Oh my goodness, I’m madly in love with that goose. He’s too charming! I am seriously deliberating snatching him up to somehow incorporate into my wedding decor!

  34. Monica says:

eek – someone beat me to that darling serving tray!

i am in love with all the brass pieces though :) and the whole aesthetic of the shop!

  35. Drew says:

Kate, I was just wondering what all of these amazing things were and to by delight, they were the start of an amazing shop by you! From the items featured, all of which would fit comfortably into anyone’s lifestyle, I would favor the chocolate ice bucket with the gold hardware. Ice buckets are the supreme accessory, not only do they evoke a fine hotel, but the make any table top bar into a story rather than an exposed storage area. What people don’t realize is their amazing uses outside of simply storing cubes. I use mine to cover the plastic pots for orchids from the flower market and they can also be used for serving gourmet popcorn at a cocktail party. I love your selection as it looks like a vintage handbag, would be perfect for a spider orchid! Congrats on opening your e-doors!

  36. style maniac says:

Good, for you, Kate! How exciting! Congrats and best of luck with your shop. Funny, I own that brass sailboat (it’s one of the few remnants of my husband’s bachelor days) and an extensive collection of Georges Briard gold glass. But my pick from your grand opening would have to be that GORGEOUS red ashtray.

  37. Kate Paradis says:

Goodness, I’ve been behind on blog reading and this was most delightful news to be caught up on! Congrats and can’t wait to see all your brilliant finds!
    Hurrah for creative spirits :)
    love,
    Katie

  38. Salt says:

  39. OK IM SO BEHIND. GAH.
I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR SHOP. IT IS GORGEOUS.

  41. Elizabeth says:
