Dreaming in French…
March 12, 2010
Yesterday I came home to the most beautiful gift in the mail. The darling Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic had sent me the book above, Dreaming in French by Megan McAndrew. I’ve only read the first twenty-or-so pages and find myself utterly enthralled! The novel tells the story of a “superficially glamorous” expatriate family in late 1970s Paris. The mother is this fantastically eccentric, stylish character from Kentucky and I’ve already grown to love her. I can’t wait for the weekend to begin so I can curl up and read the rest! As a petit homage to Heather’s thoughtful gift I thought I’d share some of my favorite Avedon photographs of Paris…
Thank you Heather and bon weekend my sweet Neo-Trads!

I love a good book recommendation, and I can’t wait to add this to my list.
The Richard Avedon pictures were the perfect thing to get me through this Friday! The first image so perfectly captures the feeling of being in Paris – as though your feet don’t even touch the ground.

I love reading a book that is a complete page turner…it’s the best way to spend a day :)! I haven’t heard of this one but it sounds great. You’ve inspired me to check it out of the library!! Enjoy your weekend :)

Love the pictures!!!
You should read “Almost French” – I can’t remember who the author is, but I have it at home if you want to borrow it (email me). It’s about a young girl from Australia who meets and falls in love with a French man, and her acclimating to living in Paris. It is wonderful! Hysterical at times, and so full of imagery.
Hope you have a great weekend too!!!

I haven’t read a book in so long because every time I have a free moment, I’m reading all of your blogs! But, this one looks great & I think I’ll have to try it. Much love doll!
