Birthday Thoughts…

I’m twenty-four today, my how time flies! Sadly I’ll be spending it solo as John is away building houses with Habitat for Humanity (yes, he’s forgiven). I’ve never spent a birthday alone, but am determined to keep my chin up (and talk to all my faraway friends on the telephone!). I’m trying to remind myself of all I have to look forward to—moving to San Francisco (it’s almost decided), officially becoming Katie Armour, decorating a new apartment, perhaps adopting a second pug (I dream of having several like Valentino and the Duchess of Windsor…wouldn’t that be grand?). Now I’m off to take Alfred for a walk in the sunshine and treat myself to a cupcake at the bakery round the corner. Perhaps today won’t be so bad after all…

Happy birthday! I spend my birthdays by eating the birthday cake I make the day before. Cake is a must! ;-)

Happy Birthday! A cupcake and conversations with friends sound like the perfect way to spend a birthday. My husband usually isn’t around on my birthday either for work reasons, so I usually spend mine with girl friends. Enjoy your special day!

Happy 24th Birthday, Katie! You’re such a spring chicken! I agree with Rikshaw, go out and get a mani/pedi, book a deep tissue massage, take a walk with Alfred, eat a cupcake, go shopping, just indulge your senses. It’s your birthday, after all! Enjoy it!

The happiest of birthdays Katie!!! Even though you’re alone, you really aren’t. You’ve got lots of great plans in the works, Alfred, and John doing his part for humanity (so great!). I think you’ll look back at this birthday and find that you really enjoyed the day you took to reflect. I love that you’re going for a walk and topping it off with a cupcake. You should, you deserve it. Trust me, before too long you’ll be married, have a second pug, and kids–you’ll appreciate the kind of birthday you had today. Kate, hundreds of awesome happy wishes for your birthday! I can’t believe you’re just 24 (not that I’m that much older) — you’re sophisticated and wise beyond your years. I’m sure you’ll celebrate this whole year with as much class as the one before. And you have so many very wonderful things planned! I’m so happy for you. I hope we’ll be able to meet once you move to San Fran. I usually prefer a quiet birthday…a good dinner, good company, and my favorite cake. Make sure you get some good pug cuddles.

Happy Birthday! Since I have a summer birthday, I often have a little quasi celebration when I’m reunited with my school friends. Any old dinner out can be turned into aforementioned celebration by wearing a tiara! Or if its at a mexican place, a sombrero!

It’s hard for me not to have fun on my b-day (July 5) because it’s usually a holiday weekend and because a night of fireworks proceeds it. So I am usually pretty busy with 4th of July festivities. I guess us girls who fall close to holidays are lucky that way. I can’t believe you are only 24! You sound much more mature than that. I am 24 about to be 25 and I always felt like you were older than me. Haha Weird!

Happy Birthday!! I’m sorry you had to spend it alone but if it’s any consolation, I think 24 is pretty much the perfect age and i am going to be really sad come October when I have to hit that quarter century mark.

Hii Happy belated birthday Katie! Hope you had a lovely day pampering yourself. I spend mine having a delicious long lunch followed by a little window shopping in my favourite store, followed by mini cupcakes and champagne, then later a bit of dancing with my friends – great fun. I’m fully intending to stretch mine out for a few more days now catching up with friends over Easter, any excuse right?! Hanifa x x x
