Look mom, the Wall Street Journal!

Would somebody please pinch me?! So I’ve had to keep everything hush hush, but last week I was interviewed by the ridiculously sweet Elizabeth Holmes at the Wall Street Journal! She just penned this fantastic story on the growing trend of specialty retailers opening bridal collections and wanted to learn more about my experience buying my wedding gown online (and sharing it with my lovely readers!). I was happy to oblige as I had a wonderful experience with J.Crew and am completely smitten with my pocketbook-friendly purchase. I hope the story proves that one doesn’t have to spend a fortune to feel chic and stylish on their big day. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Holmes and the WSJ for including me! I can’t wait to officially be Mrs. Armour!

Pretty cool! It’s a great article, and really shows that people have changed since the recession, I bet more budget-friendly options would do just as well as the jcrew line has!

Kate — I think you’re right. I’m sure Anthropologie’s bridal collection will be to die for and very successful as well. I think it’s neat that women are looking for more affordable options rather than running up their (or their parents’) credit cards! Oh my gosh – I am so excited for you! The article is great and I’m with you, I am into the affordable wedding trend. I had a strict budget with mine and honestly I wouldn’t have been any happier/prettier wearing a $3K dress instead of my $300 one! I absolutely cannot wait to see your big day. I’m a dork that way!

Great article! I must say that I’m jealous of your ability to use J.Crew – I got married in 2003 (the year before they launched their wedding line) and was looking high and low for what they offer! Believe it or not I absolutely could not find cute short bridesmaids dresses, we ended up having them made up and my dress significantly altered.
