Jack and Jackie Go Sailing
June 14, 2010These photos from 1953 of Jack and Jackie sailing in Cape Cod made me smile. They were engaged at the time and Jackie was spending the summer with her in-laws. My fiance, John, is currently spending the summer on the opposite coast with his future in-laws and we’re having an equally fun time. Plus he has handsome shades just like JFK’s—I’m a lucky girl.

These are great, such a nice time in history. They look so ultimately happy and unaware of lifes challenges for them. Just two kids embarking on a life together. WHAT A LIFE THAT WAS.
Love the pics and the shades, no one wore them better.

everytime I see photos of this beautiful couple I can’t help but think how much fun they had.
It must feel good to be back home and for John to be with you.

That is one of my favorite photo shoots of the Kennedy’s EVER! They both look so happy and charming, and he doesn’t have any of the stress in his face that you see once he gets into office…. they’re both so bright and handsome… It’s such a shame that the family experienced such great loss and tragedy on such a public scale!

Haha, love these! I posted some a few weeks ago in the debate on what we should do for our honeymoon! We have gotten in our crazy heads that we want to go sailing (we dont sail). Pete wants to head north which would clearly mean channeling Jackie and JFK…but I want to go south towards the outerbanks like Pacey and Joey! TOUGH decisions :)

These are so beautiful, wouldn’t you love to sail!

These are fabulous shots and I always smile when I see them! We were lucky enough about 10 years ago to visit Hammersmith Farms before it was sold. It was so beautiful there – you would have loved it!
And you are lucky, but so is he! -
Oh Kate….these photos have always been the ones to take my breath away! My absolute favorite photos of J and J. The simple pleasure on their faces that made them the world’s sweethearts…

You are a lucky girl! Just back from a week at the Ocean House in Watch Hill and these pictures capture the elegance of those days to a tee. Though we spent most of the days indoors, the view from our trunk show suite was of the sailboats on the bay – just beautiful!
