All I can think about recently is decorating our new apartment and I’ve been pouring over the Design*Sponge Sneak Peek archives for inspiration. This space belonging to Abbey Nova is particularly lovely, don’t you think? The multitude of artwork, cherry red vintage phone, and blue velvet sofa all made me swoon. Such a taste of heaven! Abbey just finished her Master’s and took a position at the Metropolitan Museum of Art—how exciting! Be sure to check out her fantastic blog, Abbey Goes Design Scouting.
“Please send me your last pair of shoes, worn out with dancing as you mentioned in your letter, so that I might have something to press against my heart.”
These old black and white shots by fashion photographer John French stopped me in my tracks. French was highly sought after in London in the 1950′s and 1960′s and his photos seem to capture the era’s glamour perfectly. Feathers, rhinestones and dainty white gloves—what’s not to love?
I’ve always loved the illustrations of Eva Juliet and her latest print of sweet French confections is no exception. Wouldn’t it be darling framed in a coffee or pastry shop? Or better yet, my future kitchen?
I’m eagerly awaiting Sofia Coppola’s next film, Somewhere. A father-daughter story starring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, it’s sure to pull at the heartstrings (and have a fabulous soundtrack)!
