Avedon Visits Camelot

There’s something riveting about these contact sheets from Richard Avedon’s photo session with the Kennedy family.  Taken on January 3, 1961 in Palm Beach, Florida, the images were a portrait assignment commissioned by Harper’s Bazaar.  The out takes are in fact my favorite shots—Jack blinking with that big grin of his.  You feel as though you’re getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Camelot.  As intrigued as I am?  A full book is available here.

    I totally used these photos when I blogged about ballerina dads and how sweet they are with their little girls. Love them so much. Caroline was such a beauty.

    I love these. especially the ones with caroline.
