Let Them Eat…Macaroons?

I spotted this macaroon cake over an hour ago among the wedding photos of the lovely Cherry Blossom Girl and my mouth still hasn’t stopped watering. Isn’t it pure delicious divinity, all those pretty pastels stacked sky high? It’s already been settled that I must have one, but for what occasion?

I’ve promised my boyfriend’s sister that I will make her a giant cake/tower of macarons for her wedding, though I think I’ll leave the sparklers at home.

Too cute! It’s like the kransekake of Norwegian weddings or the French croquembouche, only with macaroons!
Let’s see… for an occasion, how about Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday, or just any day?

I still havent had a chance to have one of these, Are they soft? or hard cookies? I want one.
Brunch is an occasion or is that too extravagant? I vote no.
