Vintage Starburst
December 14, 2010I am in absolute awe of the latest addition to the J.Crew Wedding Collection, the Starburst gown. The craftsmanship looks exquisite, does it not? The starburst pleating was inspired by a 1950′s cocktail gown found in an archive and “to recreate it, hundreds of strips of fluttery bias-cut silk georgette were cut and then painstakingly stitched and ironed into a circle of radiating pleats.” The lines are so stunning—be still my heart!

I know, I LOVE this wedding gown. Have you seen the cocktail version of this dress? The pale plum color is GORGEOUS! http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/dresses/eveningdinner/PRDOVR~34498/34498.jsp

This is gorgeous! It would even look amazing dyed in a great dark blue or green for an evening gown … so pretty!

This is stunning!!

This. Is. Incredible. And scarily similar to what I’ve wanted to design myself when that magic day rolls around (minus the contrasting sash at the waist). Would it be wrong to buy this without the engagement ring on my finger? Ha!
