Gemma’s Song

This 2005 spread of Gemma Ward for American Vogue is one of my all-time favorites.  Photographer Mario Testino had (still has…) me wishing I could play an instrument.  The last shot took my breath away.  I miss Gemma, do you?

Cate — I think she retired from modeling. I used to see her walking around the east village when I lived in NY—much healthier weight and happy as can be. Good for her! xo

I happen to catch a glimpse of an opera special on PBS this weekend. That and seeing this post, both bring back to the first time I heard “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” from Evita when I was young. It’s a song that has randomly popped into my head at times ever since. I have a feeling these photos will also pop up in my memory and accompany the music I imagine. Truly breathtaking! Thank you!
