Anthropologie Wedding Dresses!
February 9, 2011I am swooning over this sneak peek of Anthropologie’s upcoming bridal collection! All the dresses are between $1,000 – $4,000 and will be available February 14th (yes, Valentine’s day!). The label will be called BHLDN. Anyone planning on trying one on?

This is half of my dream, the other half is that anthropologie will also do wedding registries! (for my imaginary wedding of course)

I 2012, we will celebrate 25 years and I would love to wear a BHLDN frock and have a little intimate Anniversary party and profess my love all over again to my dear husband. Love them all, but that top one is dreamy and grown up.

they’re ADORABLE! i was dying to see what the BHLDN line would look like…thanks for the sneak peek :)

I am always one beat behind you. I just blogged about the Glamour peak too! You are so on top of things! I love it.
I think they are to die for. I love the eyelet dress! I already bought my dress, but I fully intend to go with a friend and try them on for fun!

OMG. And we both used the word “swoon” in our post! Such a fantastic word!

Haha wow those are beautiful but I think I’m still going to go with my Disney inspired ones I wrote about in my dream wedding haha.

These are GORGEOUS! Thank you so much for sharing. I especially love the first one …

It’s probably a good thing that Anthro didn’t have wedding dresses available when I got married a few years ago – I’m sure it would have forced me to spend more than I should on a dress :)

I must say that I’m also taken aback by the price point for these dresses; $1K to $4k seems excessive. While I’m not about to question the quality (quite frankly if they are charging so much, the dresses really ought to be top notch), I’m more curious as to how Antropologie plans to sell the dresses and where they came up with their prices. Will select stores include a bridal salon and will brides need to make an appointment? Will the dresses only be available by custom order and thus take weeks prior to delivery (a la Kleinfelds) or will they be available off the rack (a la David’s Bridal and J.Crew)?
From the photographs provided, I will say that I don’t think style-wise, any of these dresses ought to cost much more than $1K. In fact, I really only think the 1st dress could get away with a price slightly higher than $1K. All of the others, particularly, numbers 2 and 3, do not look worth more than a few hundred dollars. Instead, I think Anthropologie is tacking on an extreme wedding markup for simple dresses that could easily (and profitably) be sold at a significant discount from the proposed price point. All in all, I’m disappointed. It looks like Anthropologie has just jumped on the wedding bandwagon and in a price-gouging manner. -
as someone who had to buy her dress at the beginning of the month, i was so v. bummed about missing out on both BHLDN and the white by vera wang line… sigh… i love my dress, but still, who wouldn’t dream of a wedding dress from anthropologie?

I absolutely adore shopping at Anthropologie… however $4,000 is a little absurd to charge for any of these simple dresses above. I actually purchased my wedding gown a few weeks ago, and with it’s originality, beautiful fine details and fabric – it was not nearly as expensive as these choices…granted the lavish shopping experience which was provided as well ;)

I think they are absolutely adorable!

I am OBSESSED with tea-length wedding gowns. I hope that more and more designers start coming out with them. They look so chic!
-
I think they are all beautiful! The eyelet one is especially adorable. I don’t really think it is fair to assume on the quality of these dresses and 1000-4000 does not seem offensive to me. Just because a wedding dress has a big name designer label on it does not mean it is of higher quality. And same goes for the Anthropologie dresses. I’ll wait to see more before I decide. Oh! – they are also doing decorations, bridesmaids, invitations etc. so you can have the entire Anthropologie wedding experience. I for one, am excited to see the launch!

Katie, this price point will never work at Anthro. I’m sure their consultant focus group thought they should do something like this in response to J.Crew’s Bridal collection, but I don’t think their’s will last either.
Brides don’t want a gown in this price range that came from a mall. A bride can get a gown at this price from Sak’s 5th Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, Priscilla of Boston & on & on. I totally disagree with what Mae said; with MANY years in luxury retail I can promise anyone that you do get what you pay for in designer goods. She’s being very very short-sighted. A Vera Wang gown at her lowest price point, say $4000 would be FAR superior to Anthro at $4000.
Just saying. -
Do you ladies shop at Anthro? A casual day dress can cost upwards of $180- $250 bucks… so, I don’t think it’s out of the question for a wedding dress- “the” dress, to be in this price range! I’m excited to see what the bridesmaid dresses look like, as I’m in four weddings in the next year and would prefer not to look like I’m in Junior high or a silk taffeta dress-up doll!

long awaited! i’m so happy to see these- thanks for the sneak peek!
-
I love the golden white color of the dresses, it’s very unique and has a great vintage feel! The gold and green pumps are such a cute option too.
-
Pricing controversy aside, the ruffles and details on the second dress are DIVINE!
-
These are actually really cute…surprisingly great considering it’s Anthro. Don’t love the name, it’s a bit heavy for a bridal line, but other than that I love it! All i need is a man… ;-)

I love the unique take they’ve taken on wedding dresses…but I was very surprised at the price point! For $4K I could buy something of much higher quality.
