“I still believed in possibilities then, still had the sense, so peculiar to New York, that something extraordinary would happen any minute, any day, any month.”
-Joan Didion

On Tuesday afternoon a friend and I walked around our neighborhood (the endearingly old-school Upper East Side) and snapped photos. He graciously let me use his camera which is far better than my own. We strolled past the Frick, stopped for macarons at Ladurée (raspberry, vanilla, and chestnut, please…), and zigzagged our way between Fifth and Madison. How lucky we are to live in Manhattan.
