Bon Appétit just published the loveliest article about how artist John Derian entertains at his Provincetown, Massachusetts home. I’ve admired the place for some time and the photos are just magical. Happy Friday, ladies! My friend Lynn brought a wonderful cause to my attention that I wanted to share with you. The stunning grounds above belong to the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum in New York. This “beauty of the Bronx” as it is known, is eligible (thanks to American Express and Partners in Preservation) to receive $150,000 towards restoration of their historic gardens. I just cast my morning vote and hope you will too!

1. Click here to go to the Partners in Preservation voting site
2. Click “By Borough” on the right hand side
3. Click Bronx and then on the Bartow-Pell tab
4. Click on Vote (you’ll be asked to create an account)
5. Return daily until May 21st!

I’m 26 today. It’s pouring rain outside so I’ve lit a candle, made a hot pot of coffee, and turned on some Sinatra (it reminds me of my Grandpa Buddy dancing around the kitchen preparing dinner, “I’ve got the world on a string sitting on a rainbow…”). Anyway, whether it’s raining or shining in your corner of the world, I hope you have a lovely day. Have a sweet for me!
