Just added some things to Katie Armour Home, you know, in case you are in dire need of an elephant…or two. XO
Just added some things to Katie Armour Home, you know, in case you are in dire need of an elephant…or two. XO
Just a few (okay, a bunch…) of things added to Katie Armour Home this week. Brass figures, a porcelain letter holder, beaded champagne coupes…oh my! I stumbled upon a gold mine of brass figures and am working on getting them all up! Hope you enjoy! XO Katie
P.S. How much of a cutie patootie is that elephant??? I want to pinch his darling little tush!
Just added these items and more to Katie Armour Home! I like to give my Neo-Trad readers first dibs : )
XOXO
Big news—I’ve decided to take the leap (after 75 sales in two weeks—I love you guys!!!) and pursue my Katie Armour Home venture full time. I’ll finally be able to upload all my inventory! I have so much planned I can hardly sit still. One of my first orders of business, however, will be to prepare a proper home office. I desperately need a new chair, the current dining chair I use (tisk, tisk) is beginning to take a serious toll on my back. Does anyone have a suggestion for a chic, comfortable chair that won’t break the bank? I’m currently loving this one from Crate & Barrel (until I can afford the Eames that surely inspired it). Some other items I’m lusting after for my dream office:
This classic white lacquered Parsons desk by West Elm.
Mixed with a more traditional blue and white tea jar lamp by Wisteria.
For a little fragrance, fresh blooms in this vase by Kate Spade.
For motivation, this cute poster by The Love Shop.
For jotting down million dollar ideas, this chevron notepad by Linda & Harriet.
For packing shipments, these vintage inspired scissors from Kate’s Paperie.
For holding down the orders, this decoupage rose paperweight by John Derian.
For a true vintage touch, this brass faux bamboo ashtray and ceramic bust just added to my shop.
For my Domino archives, I love these simple lucite magazine holders from The Container Store. They’re currently on sale!
For covering my wall with inspiration images, this elephant tape dispenser by Iomoi.
For recycling, this pretty floral wastebasket by The Well Appointed House.
For keeping order, this industrial, vintage inspired stapler by The Container Store.
So I don’t forget what day it is all alone in my apartment, this Kate Spade wall calender illustrated by the incredibly talented Bella Foster (a Plucky Pioneer!).
While styling things for the shop today I came up with this brilliant (if I do say so myself…) idea to use my spiny sputnik sea urchin as a match stick holder. I have those awesome long matches (I’m scared of fire…) and it totally worked! I think it would work with regular, small matches too. Okay, so have I lost my mind or does it look neat? I bought this little guy in a shop (he’s real!), but you can order sea urchins online here.

I’m a busy little bee today, but wanted to share with you some fun, new additions to the shop. My kitchen counter is literally covered with things waiting to be photographed and listed—LOTS more to come! Thank you again to all my lovely readers for their support of last week’s launch! XO

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! I’ve been insanely busy with the launch of my shop (thank you for all your support), but am happy to be throwing myself back into blogging this week! We’re taking a break from the Plucky Pioneer series today, but not to fret—we already have someone fantastic lined up for next Monday. In the meantime, Fallon over at A Lovely Being will be posting an interview later this afternoon with yours truly for her new “Behind the Curtain” series. Thank you Fallon for asking me to be your first guest—what an honor!

P.S. I found some amazing pieces this weekend and will be adding to the shop every day this week! Stay tuned! XO
I was trying to think of something to post about on this lovely Friday morning and felt inspired by this Greek themed ice bucket in my shop. I just LOVE the classical key design—it reminds me of well, Greece, and who doesn’t love a sunny island or two? Below, some of my favorite Greek Key designs from around the web. Happy Friday everyone!

I wrote down everyone’s name that commented on last Friday’s Katie Armour Home post, closed my eyes and drew a winner from a milk glass bowl. The brass pineapple above goes to…Staley Mc! Congratulations Staley and thank you everyone for your sweet, encouraging and oh-so-very-helpful feedback! The shop is off to a great start and I’m scrambling to upload more inventory. Keep checking back as I’ll be adding things daily starting…now! XO
It is with great excitement that I introduce to you my latest project, “Katie Armour Home.” My new online vintage shop is brimming with traditional-with-a-twist finds. As you all know I’m a big fan of flea markets, estate sales and antique shops. Well, over the past year or so I have amassed quite the collection and now I’d like to spread the love. In the “Katie Armour” Etsy shop you will everything from vintage brass figurines to Vera table linens. Every item caught my eye for one special reason or another. I buy what I love and I hope you love it too! I chose “Katie” because it’s what my darling, supportive family often calls me and “Armour” (soon to be my last name) because I couldn’t have done this without my partner in crime, John. Besides, did you know Kate Spade wasn’t yet “Spade” when she and her now hubby, Andy, launched their little handbag collection? Below is a selection of items featured in the shop. I take great care to include small styled vignettes to help you visualize. There are forty items currently listed, but I have twice that still waiting for their moment in the limelight. I’ll be adding items all weekend…we’re expecting up to 16 inches of snow!
UPDATE: People have asked about using images from the shop on their own blog—of course you may! Spread the Katie Armour Home love! I’m touched and overwhelmed by your support. I have the BEST blogging friends a girl could ask for! XO
To kick things off on the right foot I will be giving away one of my all time favorite finds, the brass pineapple below. As you know the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and one of the most classic motifs found in the home. This pineapple opens up to store any number of trinkets—matches, jewelry, or perhaps some pretty paperclips for your desk. It’s handsome and weighty and I’ll be oh-so-pleased to send it off to a happy home. To enter simply link over to Katie Armour Home, decide your favorite item and leave a comment on this post telling me what it is! I’m desperate for your feedback—my goal is to fill the shop with all your favorite things. Oh and you don’t have to be a blogger to comment or enter—everyone’s eligible. Do drop me a line and tell me what you think! Have a wonderful wintery weekend my loves!
XOXO Katie : )
P.S. I’ll be drawing a name at random on Monday at 5:00pm EST to be our winner!
