Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love Madewell’s sidewalk skimmers any more they had to go and make them with polka dots! Be still my heart.

Just popping in to say hello and apologize for having been MIA since New York (which was busy and lovely as always)! Things have been a bit nutty with Matchbook’s anniversary issue going live this week (yippee!!!). I hope you’ll forgive me! Morning loves! Today I’m headed to the airport to catch a plane to New York. I’ll be shooting a couple things for Matchbook’s anniversary issue and speaking on a panel at NYU’s Women Entrepreneurs Festival (so excited to see Arianna Huffington speak!). I’m also looking forward to spending time with my adorable little brother (a budding Broadway star). So we took my pixie shorter than it’s ever been and above are the results! I love it and it will be so easy to “style” (do you know I haven’t blow dried my hair in over a year? Amazing…). After my hair appointment I swung by The Common to say hello to the Taylor Stitch boys. They’re such gentlemen, always a pleasure. Next I had lunch at the yummy Pizzeria Delfina with my amazingly talented friend Amanda and her cute-as-pie baby, Lincoln. He stole my heart! Last but not least, I met up with Mr. Armour for a little shopping. The striped sweater and tuxedo jacket above are both from Club Monaco — I can’t wait to wear them in NY next week! I’m going to get my pixie cut trimmed tomorrow morning and am thinking I might mix things up a bit. I love the edginess of Ginnifer Goodwin’s crop above from the Met Gala. I don’t think I have the courage to buzz the sides as she did, but I like the idea of them closely cropped. I’ll keep you posted on what I decide…ekkkk. Wish me luck!

I’m headed to New York in two weeks and am starting to think about proper winter clothes (it’s been in the seventies here recently, good ol’ California…). I’m loving these striped sweaters and chic cardigans. The Tory one at top right is called the “Katie” — must be fate ;)

1. Put my “face on” every morning even if I work from home and my only co-workers are pugs (grandmother says its important for one’s morale, she’s right…)

2. Decorate and publish our apartment. It’s teeny tiny, but I love a good challenge.

3. Run my first 1/2 marathon in April (pray for me.)

4. Tumble, pin, and tweet every day. I started a personal tumblr and I have 3 followers (kinda a big deal)!

5. Give the Neo-Trad a face lift. Safe to say I’ve outgrown the chevron. Makeover already in the works, terribly excited :)

6. Take more pictures. I am obsessed with instagram.

7. Go to at least one museum each month. I work a lot. In 2012 I vow to step away from my desk more often and seek out new inspiration.

8. Grow MatchbookMag.com into THE online destination for our fellow ballet flat/Jane Austen/polka dot/champagne cocktail-loving friends. We have lofty dreams on this front, just you wait!!!

9. Save up all our pennies and go to Paris with John for our 2nd anniversary. It’s my happy place and I could use a week of lounging at sidewalk cafes, lingering over beautiful paintings, and strolling along the Seine. It’s a long shot with him in law school and my having a start-up, but I thought I’d put it out there… #dreambig
