I was interviewed yesterday by one of my favorite magazines/blogs (can’t wait to share it with you!) and answered Sofia Coppola when asked about a current style icon. While I love to look at frilly, girlish things my personal wardrobe is far more tailored and neutral than one might imagine. More specifically, I find these shots from Sofia’s campaign with Louis Vuitton to be the epitome of chic.
I want to know, who is your current style icon? Gush away, it will make for great Matchbook research : )

I just love the model’s short bright nails in these new shots for The J.Crew Collection. I’m inspired to do something similar before I fly out to New York tonight. Fun fact: I almost always do my nails myself. No time for manicures these days, le sigh.
P.S. My dress for Matchbook’s launch party on Wednesday begs for a belt of some sort, any suggestions? A little sparkle could work or I could even go the punk chic route and wear something with studs…? It needs to be high-waisted. A girl must look chic for co-hosts John Derian, Rita Konig, Lela Rose and Coach (ahhhhh!). Where should I look???

I’m so tickled to share a fun bit of press I received this Sunday in the San Franisco Chronicle. Anh-Minh Le (editor of the fantastic new print magazine Anthology) interviewed me about Matchbook and some of my favorite things. My scanner couldn’t fit the entire piece, but if you’re interested it’s online here. A special thank you to photographer Russell Yip and Anh-Minh—what a wonderful group of people over there! Needless to say, I am incredibly honored to have the Chronicle’s support.

I simply must have this tote by the cool Canadian boutique, Fieldguided. ”There is thunder in our hearts.” What a moody, romantic sentiment. Love, love, love.
