I just started to clear off this old bookcase (picked up at a thrift shop a few months back) so I can paint it. The light was nice so I snapped a few photos of my unruly shell collection before taking everything apart. This is only a very small glimpse of it. Someday, once I’ve finally finished decorating our little place, I’ll publish it somewhere so you can see the rest :)
P.S. Yes, Linda Rodin in Matchbook’s most recent issue is definitely a kindred spirit.
P.P.S. Want to know a little secret? That pretty flower on the left is faux! A gift from my friends at Diane James Home.

Morning loves! I have some exciting news for you—starting today the Matchbook team will be doing a giveaway every Tuesday until our launch in January! This week we’re giving away a large print by Swedish fashion illustrator Kristina Hultkrantz of Emma Kisstina. The poster is 30cm x 40cm (11.8″ x 15.7″) and the winner gets to choose from any of Kristina’s darling designs. I personally am torn between the Lolita-inspired frames and stack of classics, but the choice is all yours! To enter simply “like” Matchbook on Facebook and leave a comment below telling us your favorite illustration. We’ll draw a winner tomorrow at 4pm EST. In the meantime I encourage you to live vicariously through Kristina’s charming Stockholm adventures on her blog. I’m a regular visitor ; )
UPDATE: Congratulations to our winner, Laura Marie! I hope you love your new print! xx
Bonne chance and thank you so very much for your support!

Hello there loves, may we pretty please chat about books for a quick second? Below are some of my all-time favorites (I know, I know—I’m such a cliché girly girl…), but I’m in search of something new and figured you could help! What are your favorites that make you laugh or cry? What books do you read time and time again?
Emma, The Sun Also Rises, The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing, Tales of a Female Nomad, Pride and Prejudice, I Feel Bad About My Neck, What Is This Thing Called Love, The Great Gatsby, The Year of Magical Thinking, Eat, Pray, Love, Franny and Zooey, A House in Fez, Anna Karenina, Little Women, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting…and I will add more as they come to me!
(p.s. I am obsessed with the image above, aren’t you???)
