The new J.Crew catalog features nine everyday women (”friends, associates, and acquaintances”) with inspiring style and enviable wardrobes.  I’m loving these three shots in particular.  At top is Molly Carey, a designer for J.Crew.  Isn’t she gorgeous???  Love the hair, love the lipstick, love the necklace…sigh.  Second, is talented interior designer Celerie Kemble and last, but not least is Lily Koppel, darling author of the seemingly wonderful The Red Leather Diary. If her book is half as cute as she is I simply must read it!

Hello all, my apologies for having neglected you the past few days.  I’ve simply been exhausted and in desperate need of a little rest and relaxation.  Next time I’ll announce it before hand so I don’t have concerned friends contacting me—oops!  Anyway, I get these horrid stitches out of my foot this weekend so that’s something to look forward to.  Oh and the new J.Crew catalog is out.  Have you seen it?  As a matter of fact, I’ll post the cover below.  Isn’t it divine?  Anywho, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I promise to be back next week brimming with wonderful posts.  I’ve been saving up lots of little things and am oh-so-excited to share it all with you.  Thank you for your continued support and inspiration!

A dash of bling…

Just wanted to share with you all my latest obsession, this Crystal Supernova Bracelet by J.Crew.  Even the name is cool and let’s be honest, every wardrobe could use a little dash of bling.

We may already be in the midst of spring 2010 fashion week, but it’s this image of Jenna Lyons at the fall 2009 shows that I’m stuck on today.  I love her mix of high and low (naturally, that’s a J.Crew bag she’s carrying).  The layered necklaces and cropped fur coat paired with the black mini are just too chic.  I know I post about Madame Lyons quite a lot, but can you blame me?

Just came across an interview of Jenna Lyons (creative director of J.Crew—she’s brilliant) by The Huffington Post.  They poked around her office to find her latest inspirations.  For explanations of the pictures below and much, much more read the interview HERE!

Lusting After: Scattered Petal Tank by J.CREW

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Jcrew1

If there’s one item I’m lusting after as summer slowly creeps towards fall (say it ain’t so…) it’s this “scattered petal tank” by J.CREW.  Available in bright papaya, barely peach and black, the silk tank has been adorned by hand with whimsical silk flowers.  It’s only available at select stores so your (or my…) best bet is to purchase online.  I don’t want summer to end, but if fall includes hues like this papaya I may just be able to look on the bright side…

Crew Cuts: Pretty in Pink

Sometimes I want to have children just so I have an excuse to buy from J.Crew’s Crew Cuts collection.  Is that wrong?  Don’t worry, I won’t be having any anytime soon, but when I do, you can bet my offspring will be dressed to the nines like the adorable and oh-so-hip little girl above.  Below is a little collage with some of my favorite pieces from the current collection—so pretty in coral pink!

J.Crew Shoot in Monterey, California!

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Picture 187

J.Crew’s fall 2009 line has made its debut—check your mailbox!  The catalogue is also up on their website and as usual, the collection is absolutely stunning.  The best part?  The shoot took place in Monterey, California where yours truly spent four years in boarding school.  I have have such fond memories of Monterey and J.Crew did a spectacular job of capturing the area’s breathtaking natural beauty.  From the grassy tree-dotted hills to the jagged Big Sur coastline, each shot brought back such rosey memories.  As the catalogue explains, Monterey was home to the great American author John Steinbeck and many of his incredible stories took place in the area.  Compliments to J.Crew for choosing a place steeped in such literary history!  Oh and for those unfailingly fabulous clothes…

J.Crew — Behind the Scenes, Paris

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Do you remember the incredible J.Crew shots from Paris back in Fall 2007 (see below)?  Well I just came across the sweetest little film short  with behind the scenes footage of the unforgettable shoot!  It’s even set to a fun French tune!  It certainly isn’t their “latest photo shoot” anymore, but I just had to share it.  I’m on such a wistful Paris kick recently—this certainly isn’t helping soothe my wanderlust.  I might just have to do something about it…  Enjoy the film!

Store Decor – J.Crew’s Photo Mosaic

photo-3

How great is this photo mosaic from the J.Crew outlet in Myrtle Beach?  The mural-size piece is mounted behind the counter and sets the perfect summer tone.  I loved this photo shoot from Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann House and love even more how they’ve printed it section by section on inexpensive paper to create a masterpiece.  Such a chic, affordable focal point for a wall! I may just have to steal their idea using one of my own hi-res photos.  Below are two more images from J.Crew’s photo shoot at the Kaufmann House.

Lugano Luggage Collection by J.Crew

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Picture 25

I was delighted to find that J.Crew’s latest luggage collection is named after my former home of Lugano, Switzerland!  Someone over at J.Crew (was it Jenna?) must have been so smitten by beautiful Lugano they decided to name the line after it.  Ten minutes from the the Swiss-Italian border, the Italian speaking city sits on Lago di Lugano (see my image below) just thirty minutes north of Italy’s famous Lago di Como.  I was fortunate enough to live in Lugano for two years and miss it dearly.  The city has all the efficiency and cleanliness of a Swiss town paired with the Italian’s mouth-watering food and general zest for life—talk about an unbeatable combination!  J.Crew’s vibrant leather luggage line does Lugano justice with luxurious Italian leather in custom J.Crew colors of orange and stone.  The Swiss would approve!
