These high fashion images of ten-year old Kiernan Shipka (best known as Sally Draper of Mad Men) in Interview Magazine absolutely blew me away. Talk about a glamorous version of dress-up! If you’ve never seen an interview with the young actress you must watch this—she’s impressively articulate for her age.

Just stumbled across this wonderfully glamorous vintage lipstick ad on illustrator Dyna Moe’s Flickr page (Mr. Armour just got me her book of Mad Men illustrations!). It’s from an old Playbill and its simple, chic line drawing caught my eye. Sometimes I think understated things make the biggest statement, anyone agree?

It’s true, I am a proud pear shape. I am several sizes smaller on top than I am on bottom and because of this every season I find myself searching high and low for flattering a-line or bell skirts that accentuate my small waist without hugging my rather roomy lower half. Well finally (and I honestly think I have beautiful, curvaceous gals of Mad Men to thank) retailers are granting me my wish! This season J.Crew has not one, but a bevy of options! Above, the taffeta marvelle mini, sequin mesh bell skirt, wool bell skirt and the duchess bell skirt. They all come in a variety of colors and worn belted high at the waist with fun tights they will be my go-to look this fall. Thank you J.Crew for allowing us to embrace and flatter our curves!
And now that I’ve put this out for the world to know, do I have any fellow pears reading? Go team!

I know I’ve devoted a Daily Girl Crush post to Miss Jones once before, but these images of January at a recent Louis Vuitton cocktail party absolutely blew me away. I just adore her chic high-waisted trousers, lacy blouse and smokey eyes. Mad Men returns on Sunday July 25 (also known as my wedding day…thank goodness for iTunes!).
