Strike a Pose, Matchbook in NY

The Matchbook team is in New York and we just began a Facebook album to keep you updated on our adventures!  Above are a few of my favorites—Jane at the Strand, framed vintage matchboxes at Kate Spade, and a Frenchie riding in fluffy pink style (his owner told us the pup “loves the ladies”).  We love him too.

New York Dreams

These stunning shots by The Cherry Blossom girl have me beyond excited to fly to New York this Sunday night.  The entire Matchbook team is buzzing with excitement — so much to do, so little time!  What are your very favorite things to do in New York?

And she’s off!

It’s almost that time—I fly out tomorrow for nine days in New York!  While I’ll miss John and Alfred dearly, I’m beyond excited to be headed back to my old turf.  I’ll be spending three days in Manhattan meeting some of my design idols (pray I don’t faint…) and then am headed to the Adirondacks with my beautiful friend Jane Lilly Warren of Lox Papers for her three-day-wedding-extravaganza!  Scott and Jane are two of my favorite people in the entire world and I’m absolutely tickled to be a bridesmaid.  I’ll be blogging intermittently next week, but for all the details you can follow my adventures via tweet-o-gram.

What are your weekend plans my loves?  Anything I must see in New York?  Miss you till Monday! xx

Natalie in New York

Natalie_Wood_William_Claxton_New_York_City

This classic William Claxton photograph of starlet Natalie Wood in Manhattan will always have me longing to move back to the city that never sleeps.  Isn’t she positively radiant?  It was images like this and stories like Joan Didion’s Goodbye To All That that helped convinced me to move from San Francisco to Manhattan two years ago.  Now I miss both cities dearly and can’t wait to see where we end up next…!

What about you my lovelies—which city do you dream of someday calling home? Are you longing for the bustling streets of Manhattan or to keep it weird in Austin?  The foggy bay of San Francisco or the romance and grandeur of Parisian boulevards?  Do tell.  I so love getting to know you.
