Pug at Pemberley Flat

A dear reader (thank you Marni) just sent me a link to this charming Janet Hill painting and I bet you can guess why.  Isn’t he a cutie?  I’m so in love!  The original was sold, but thankfully Janet’s Etsy shop is full of delightful prints!

I don’t know about you, but I find these figurative paintings by Tastes Orangey to be perfectly lovely.  I just adore how they have been sewn onto their mat, such a creative touch, no?  Today I relate to the girl at bottom burying her head in pillows.  With the move two days away things are more than a bit hectic in these parts.  I can’t wait to be in Hawaii (honeymoon bliss) and regain my  sanity!

“Here, There and Them”

Do you adore the work of artist Bella Foster as well?  If so, you must stop by her BLOG, “Here, There and Them: Bella Foster’s Paintings of Other People’s Stuff.”  It’s literally just that, paintings of her friend’s things, and let me tell you—they are simply stunning!  Foster’s interiors with their loose figures, bright colors and hint of whimsy remind me a bit of light-hearted, contemporary Matisse (serious comparison, I know, but she’s worthy of it!).  View some of my favorite Matisse interiors HERE.  As for today, I can’t wait to see more of  Ms. Foster’s work.  Bella, such a fitting name.
