These glamour shots by photographer Corrie Bond have me itching to go on a road trip. John and I are toying with the idea of Austin for Christmas. We love nothing more than to hop in the car (iPhones brimming with NPR podcasts) and take off somewhere new. What about you—ever been on a road trip? Where do you recommend?

Farewell my darlings, we’re off to the Carolinas for a long weekend! As you can see I started packing last night and am anxious to lounge on the beach reading Grace and Power (the riveting story of John and Jackie’s White House years). First stop is the beach in South Carolina for some sun bathing and then perhaps Durham, North Carolina and Charlottesville, Virginia to look at potential business schools for John. I’ve never been to any of these places and beyond excited. I love road trips and am in dire need of a little summer escape. Be back Tuesday with lots of photos! xoxo
